How to Join the Digital Detective Forensic Forum

     

Digital Detective Digital Forensics Forum for Data Recovery Carving and Computer Crime

The Digital Detective Forensic Forum has over 5,000 users and caters for:

The forum is for practitioners in the field of digital forensics.  Please follow the sign-up instructions carefully as failure to do so will result in your application being rejected.  Until your profile has been authorised, you will not be able to view or participate in any of the forums. 

Please read the Forum Rules, Terms and Conditions carefully before applying.

Step 1

Visit the main forum and click on the register tab.  The main forum can be accessed via the "forensic forum" button on the menu to the left of this page.

  

Digital Detective Forensic Forum User ID

The first field to complete is your user ID.  This will be the keyword you use to access the forum.  This is case sensitive. 

 

Digital Detective Forensic Forum Display Name

 

The next field to complete is your display name.  The forum rules dictate this must be you proper name.  If anything other than a proper name is placed in this field, the application will be rejected. 

 

Digital Detective Forensic Forum Email Address

The email address field is extremely important.  The forum is only open to practitioners within the field.  You must enter a valid agency/force/company email address.  This is for vetting purposes only.  You will not receive any junk email from us, it is to verify your identity and to show you are a forensic practitioner.  Please do not use Hotmail/GMail/Yahoo/AOL or other disposable/personal addresses.  They will only be rejected.  There is also an option to allow you to hide your email address from other forum members. 

If you are a University student on a course for Computer / Digital Forensics, please use an official University email address and provide details of your course and supervisor.

This field is to ensure that you are human and not a computer.  Please try and interpret the characters and type them into the box provided.

 

Digital Detective Forensic Forum Information

This field is extremely important and will also assist with vetting.  Please give reasons for wanting access.  You must include details of the law enforcement agency, company or other body you work for.  Please include a URL to your agency web site. 

If you wish to access the support forum, you must include your Licence or Dongle ID.  This can be found by selecting the Help >> About menu.

Please ensure you read the registration agreement.  If you agree, please then press the register button at the bottom of the page.  If you know another forum user, then this will also assist with vetting.

Step 2

Once registered, you will receive an email asking you to validate your email address.  You have 72 hours from when you registered to click on the link which will validate your address.  If you do not do this within 72 hours, the application will be automatically removed and you will need to complete the whole process from step 1. 

Once you have validated your email address, your profile will be reviewed.  The review process should take no longer than 48 hours.  Normally, you will receive notification within a few hours.  Please remember we are based in the UK (GMT Time Zone).

Please be patient, we are in the UK and forum applications are dealt with as and when time allows.
